15 Greenough Street was
the home of Adam and Annie Williamson. Born in Northern Ireland
and married in 1900 when he was 24 and she was 17, the Williamsons
came to the U.S. in 1902. Adam, who had been a janitor earlier,
was in the real estate business, owning a handful of Brookline properties
at the time they lived on Greenough Street. They lived at this address
until about 1954.
The 1930 U.S. Census
shows the residents as: Adam Williamson, 54, real estate operator,
born Northern Ireland; Annie Williamson, 47, born Northern Ireland;
and their niece, Elizabeth McGaffin, 25, secretary, born Northern
Ireland.
