Road was the home of Benjamin and Bessie Svetkey and their family,
natives of Odessa, Russia who came to the U.S. in 1912 and 1916
respectively. Benjamin, a World War I veteran, had attended night
classes at MIT and studied at General Electric’s apprentice
school. He was an engineer and the owner of the Bees Manufacturing
Company, a maker of machine parts located in South Boston. The family
was listed at this address in the Street List from 1932 through
1963. They had at least one child, a son, Edward.
