Missing information makes it hard to know anything about the construction of this house beyond the year it was built. The first residents were Florin and Elizabeth Amrhein and their family.

Florin J. Amrhein (1892-1934) was a professor of chemistry at the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy. He died in 1934, not long after the family moved to Stanton Road. Elizabeth Amrheim (born c1893) was a physician, the only woman among the many physicians to make their home in Blake Park in the early years of its development. Their son Joseph later became an economics professor.

The Amrheins were listed at this address from 1931 until the late 1940s. William McCarty, a lawyer, was listed with Elizabeth and Joseph for several years beginning in 1944.
