This house
was one of six designed by Joseph Selwyn and build by Jacob Hurwitz
on Somerset Road in 1941. They were among the last houses built
in the development of Blake Park (not counting three homes added
in the 1950s).
The first
residents of 97 Somerset Road were Anna and Julius Roazen who moved
here from Dorchester. Julius Roazen (1896-1969), who was born in
Russia and came to the U.S. in 1906, was an auto parts dealer. He
and his wife Anna (1899-1986) were first listed at this address
in 1942, and the family continued to be listed here until the early
1970s.
